Our history and background»

Entertainment Exchange, began as a small indoor market stall in Nuneaton in 1991, by A. Collings and D. Hamblett. After two years, we branched out onto Nuneaton outdoor market and had stalls twice weekly on the Stones Market in Newcastle-Under-Lyme.

In 1994, the Nuneaton outdoor market closed, so we decided to rent a unit in a local department store for one month, in a run-down area with many empty neighbouring shops. Due to our success other shops have moved in, making the area a very vibrant and interesting area to shop.

Entertainment Exchange went from strength to strength so that 10 years later, we bought the entire store and also occupy the premises next door, and we have stayed independent, which gives us greater flexibility on prices and exchange than most other stores.

Entertainment Exchange today is a big department store filled with dvds’ and console games and an adjoining shop packed with two floors of cds’ records, videos, books and posters etc.

We went back to our roots in 2002, by having two stalls on Lichfield Market in Staffordshire, twice a week, every Friday and Saturday.

You may even see us at one of the many trade shows we do across Britain. We regularly attend Memorabilia: Birmingham and Glasgow and Collectormania - Milton Keynes and Wembley.

Over the years, we have sponsored many local and national charities, we get involved in Red Nose Day, raise money for Air Ambulance, NCDL, and various children’s charities. On a local level we have sponsored a youth football team, given prizes to numerous charity raffles and events.

December 2003, we donated two £40.00 vouchers to spend in-store to the two winners of the “design a Christmas light” for Nuneaton’s Magic of Christmas celebrations.

We have for many years, sponsored a ground Board at Nuneaton Football Club and appear in their programme. We also sponsor the School Rules Breakfast show on the local Fosseway Radio, we give a prize away weekly and during the Summer Holidays we donate one big prize to be given away at the end of the Summer break.

We are always trying to keep the shop fresh and exciting and over the years have had many promotional and special days. For example, Harry Potter’s Weasley Twins visited us in-store December 2003.

We have always tried to keep the hustle and bustle and banter of our market days alive in our stores, and a visit to us is like no other.
